About

In an article for Toronto Life, reviewer Stuart Broomer wrote, “Electric bassist VAUGHAN MISENER is an intense and skillful player, subtly directing a band with pulsing lines that can suddenly explode in fresh directions.”

Vaughan plays Electric Bass and writes music, and has done so to audience and critical acclaim in Boston, New York, Europe, Israel, and Canada. He attended the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he studied with Bruce Gertz and also studied privately in NYC with electric bass icon, the late Jeff Andrews. He has worked with leading musicians including Pat LaBarbera, Robert Bonisolo, Barry Romberg, Bob McLaren, Geoff Young, Vito Rezza, Adam Rogers, Johnathan Blake, Joey and Gene Calderazzo, Kevin Dempsey, Ted Quinlan, Pete McCann, Lorne Lofsky, Mike Stern and many others. He is highly regarded as an educator who has given clinics at Humber College, Mohawk College, and York University. In 2012 he authored a book, Harmonic Origins, which outlines his approach to harmony and improvisation.
